Dr. Iise Mohamed Emoi is a distinguished Somali General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with extensive expertise in clinical surgery, healthcare leadership, and medical education. His medical journey began at Benadir University in Mogadishu, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS).
He further expanded his academic and administrative capacity by completing a Master’s Degree in Health Service Management at Kampala University, Uganda (2017–2020). This equipped him with solid knowledge in hospital administration and leadership, complementing his clinical background.
Dr. Iise pursued a Postgraduate Master’s in General Surgery at Benadir University, specializing in open and laparoscopic procedures. He also completed a prestigious internship at Prof. Dr. Suleyman Hospital under Istanbul Medeniyet University, gaining valuable international surgical exposure.
His commitment to advanced surgical training led him to complete fellowships in Surgical Gastroenterology at Apollo Institute and Care Hospital in Hyderabad (2025–2026), and in Minimal Access Surgery at the World Laparoscopy Hospital, Delhi, India.
Dr. Iise is a co-founder and practicing surgeon at AALAMI Hospital, one of Mogadishu’s most reputable private healthcare institutions. Since 2016, he has been a lecturer at local medical universities, actively mentoring future healthcare professionals.
He is dedicated to elevating surgical standards in Somalia, with a strong focus on gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgery, while continuing to promote excellence in medical education and healthcare service delivery.
